Is a bromance brewing between Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods? Maybe not, but count Phil among those who prefer Tiger Woods be in the field this week at the Masters because of the vibe he brings to the tournament.

Mickelson gave the four-time Masters champion props when he was trying to recall the people who have won consecutive championships. He named Nick Faldo and Jack Nicklaus before wondering if there was another. That led him to addressing Woods’ absence. (Woods won consecutive Masters in 2001 and 2002.):

“It’s a weird feeling not having him here, isn’t it? He’s been such a mainstay in professional golf and the majors. It’s awkward to not have him here. I hope he gets back soon. I mean, I hope he’s back for the other majors, and as much as I want to win and I know how great he is and tough to beat, it also makes it special when he’s in the field and you’re able to win.”

Phil may just be saying the politically correct thing, but it wouldn't surprise me if he's telling the truth.  He's a gambler and the higher the stakes, the more fun he has.

Now let's get all the haters to come out and say something stupid. Let me guess...You all hate Phil now, because he actually WANTS TW to be in the tourney and it's NOT the same without him....Cmon, let's hear it a$$holes....

I don't know for sure if Phil's sincere with that statement, but  I certainly am when I say that Tiger will be missed at this year's Masters. It does seems weird not having him there. It's like having a birthday party without the birthday person being there.

@LadyM  Phil was sincere during his press conference Q & A on the Golf Channel.  Grow up and STFU.

@Golfasorous @LadyM Golfadumba$$, do you actually think Phil would say something like that about TW, if he didn't mean it? No one provoked him to say anything. He brought it up on his own.

What happened to this being a free country? Freedom of speech.

I couldn't care not an iota if Phil meant what he said or not. The main purpose of my comment was to state my feelings.

Everybody knows there wasn't any truth to Phil's saying that. They didn't even bother to  comment on it.

"The Scriptures plainly tell us that Jesus wants us to be gracious and not judgmental when dealing with others and how we engage with them."

Before drawing conclusions about anyone or anything, we should pray. If we cannot say something good, we should keep silent and pray.
